The NAACP (The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) was founded Feb. 12, 1909 by W.E.B. Du Bois as well as other African American activists. The NCAAP has helped fight against the Jim Crow laws, Desegregation, and getting tax exemption. Really it's main goal has been to gain equality for African-Americans to all races and continues to today.
